Dilinie Herbert (Masters Student)
Dilinie Herbert BSc (Monash University) is a Masters of Biomedical Science (Part 1) student at the Department of Medicine, Monash Medical School, Alfred Hospital. She is in the process of conducting a research study into, “The social and ethical implications of genetic testing in the haemophilia community”, with Prof. Paul Komesaroff, Prof. Alison Street, Prof. Agnes Bankia, Dr. Chris Barnes and Ms Julie Boal. The findings of this research will be used as a needs analysis in a submission for Governmental funding of genetic testing within the haemophilia community. Her research interests surround genetically inherited conditions, in particular pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, and society’s response to the advancement of gene technology in the future.
Dilinie has recently undertaken ethics teaching at Monash University for undergraduate Medical students.
