Research Participant Questionnaire
CEMS invites you to take part in an on-line survey
Have you ever taken part in medical research?
You may be able to help us!
We want to know about your experiences as a research participant in any clinically-based medical research (e.g. drug trials, prevention trials, screening trials, trials of a new procedure or medical device, etc.).
This project is a part of a PhD project conducted at CEMS by Asuntha Karunaratne and Prof. Paul Komesaroff. The results of this survey will be used to highlight the strengths and/or weaknesses of current consent procedures and help improve them for future research participants.
So if you have taken part in a medical research study or are currently involved in one, please complete the survey. We look forward to receiving your responses. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us on (03) 9903 0729. Your input to this study will be much appreciated.

The study data will be kept in electronic, password-controlled form and in hardcopy in a locked filing cabinet, and access will be restricted to the named researchers. Data will be stored indefinitely as per Alfred Hospital policy. At the end of the study a report will be written which may be submitted for publication; however, since this is an anonymous survey no identifying details concerning you or any of the other participants will be included in such a report. Overall results of the survey, once complete, will be posted on the CEMS website for your interest.
This project has been approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee of the Alfred Hospital. If you wish to contact the ethics committee, please ring Ms. Rowan Frew (Ethics Manager) on 9076 3848
